Welcome!
Chicago Assembly No. 3 of the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) was, as the name implies, only the third regional club to be established by the S.A.M., whose assemblies now number in the hundreds. It was also the first club established by the then-new National President of the organization, Harry Houdini. In 1919, Houdini signed Assembly Number 3's charter into existence. Today, over one-hundred years later, that charter and this club continue to provide Chicago magicians with a connection to each other and to our past.

Assembly 3 TodayToday, Assembly 3 is one of the most active magic clubs in Chicago and in the United States. The club is known for hosting lectures by the most prominent professional magic performers and teachers from around the world. On non-lecture nights, the club facilitates other activities including member showcases, social activities, contests, or field trips to local magic exhibits and events. Both historically and today, the club has boasted membership to some of the best award-winning and working professional magicians. Notwithstanding, magic enthusiasts of all skill levels and interest types, including magic history and collecting, are welcome to join Assembly 3. We foster a welcome and supportive environment, with a goal of giving all magicians an increased love and respect for the art of magic, it's history as well as greater confidence in performing.
